Dr Anthony Green

Dr Anthony Green is a Counselling Psychologist and associate at The Lotus Psychology Practice. He currently works across private practice and as a psychologist for students, and lecturer at City St George’s, University of London.

 

Anthony has extensive experience treating neurodevelopment conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Additionally he specialises in relationship difficulties, psychological trauma, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. He has worked with children and adults in a variety of NHS services, university counselling, special educational needs schools, charities and psychiatric hospitals.

Anthony’s therapeutic approach aims to tailor treatment to the individual needs of his clients. He prides himself on working flexibly, using the therapeutic approach which best suits each client. Anthony focuses on helping clients to overcome their difficulties and heal, achieve their goals, and to grow. A compassionate, non-judgemental space for free expression is the cornerstone of Anthony’s practice. Clients can choose between relatively structured, practical support or a less structured, explorative approach, or a blend of both. All predicated on evidenced-based techniques and expert psychological knowledge.

Anthony is able to offer a broad range of approaches to his clients as he’s trained in a variety of different psychological therapies. These include person centred therapy, family therapy, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, mindfulness, EMDR, and adapted therapy for neurodiverse clients as well as conducting specialist autism assessment. Anthony is also involved in psychological research. He studied the impact of smartphone and social media use on the mental wellbeing of young people for his doctoral research, and disseminated findings in City St George’s University undergraduate lectures.​

  • Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (PsychD), City, University of London 

  • Masters in Psychology (MSc with GBC), University of Westminster.

  • EMDR Europe Standard Accredited Training (In progress, part 1&2 complete)

  • Hogrefe ADOS-2 and ADI-R training: Administration and coding to the level of clinical reliability

  • Low intensity cognitive behavioural interventions (PG Cert), University College London

  • Psychometrics: Affinity personality training certificate. Eligible to use a broad range of ability tests and the 15FQ+ personality test.
